Celebrating America250 Through Service, Community, and Lasting Impact

Honoring 250 Years of American Ideals

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, communities across the nation are reflecting on the values that have shaped the American story: service, resilience, generosity, civic responsibility, and a commitment to helping one another.

At Atlantic Institute of Central Florida, we believe the most meaningful way to celebrate America250 is not only by looking back at our nation's history, but by investing in our communities and serving others.

Throughout 2026, Atlantic Institute and its community partners are launching a series of initiatives that honor the spirit of America through dialogue, service, and humanitarian outreach.

Behind the Badge: Honoring Service and Resilience

One of the highlights of our America250 Community Series is "Behind the Badge," featuring retired Orlando Police Department SWAT veteran Raoul Rivas.

After decades of service, including responding to the Pulse Nightclub tragedy, Raoul brings a powerful perspective on courage, trauma, recovery, and resilience. His story offers an opportunity for our community to better understand the challenges faced by first responders, veterans, and those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

This event is more than a presentation—it is a conversation about mental health, healing, compassion, and the support systems that strengthen our communities.

By sharing stories of service and sacrifice, we honor those who have answered the call to serve and recognize the importance of standing beside them long after the headlines fade.

Lasting Impact 250: Creating Change Beyond Our Borders

America's story has always been connected to service and humanitarian action. Through our "Lasting Impact 250" initiative, students, families, and volunteers are coming together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

In partnership with Istanbul Cultural Center Orlando and Embrace Relief, students from Kids Academy are helping fund:

• A clean water well and fountain in Benin, Africa • Restroom facilities for girls at a local school

These projects will provide long-term benefits to both students and the surrounding community, improving access to clean water, sanitation, health, and educational opportunities.

As we celebrate 250 years of American history, we are also demonstrating one of America's most enduring values: helping communities thrive through compassion and collective action.

Sharing 250 Food Baskets with Our Community

Service begins at home.

As part of our America250 celebrations, Atlantic Institute volunteers are preparing and distributing 250 food baskets to members of our local community, including veterans, first responders, students, and families facing hardship.

This initiative reflects a simple but powerful belief: strong communities are built when neighbors support one another.

The food basket project will bring together volunteers of all ages and backgrounds in a shared effort to assist those who have served our country, contributed to our communities, or simply need a helping hand during challenging times.

Building Community Through Service

Atlantic Institute is a volunteer-driven civil society organization focused on education, civic responsibility, humanitarian outreach, and intercultural understanding. Through grassroots community engagement, we work to strengthen social cohesion and contribute positively to American civic life.

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, we invite our friends, neighbors, community partners, and local organizations to join us in these initiatives.

Whether through dialogue, volunteering, supporting humanitarian projects, or helping families in need, every act of service contributes to a stronger and more connected community.

Together, we can celebrate America250 not only by remembering our history, but by living the values that continue to shape our future.

Get Involved

We welcome volunteers, community partners, and supporters to join us throughout the year as we commemorate America's 250th anniversary through service, dialogue, and community engagement.

Because the best way to honor 250 years of American ideals is to put those ideals into action.
