Ramadan Iftar Held at the Florida State Capitol

The Atlantic Institute Central Florida successfully hosted a Ramadan Iftar at the Florida State Capitol on the evening of March 11, bringing together nearly 40 guests, including around 15 local community members.

Organized in partnership with State Representative Dr. Anna Eskamani, the event took place on the 22nd floor of the Florida Capitol Building in Tallahassee and provided a meaningful opportunity for community members, public officials, and legislative staff to come together during the holy month of Ramadan.

The evening highlighted the spirit of Ramadan; reflection, gratitude, and community, through the traditional breaking of the fast, known as iftar. Guests shared a meal and engaged in conversations focused on mutual understanding, civic engagement, and strengthening ties between communities.

Among the distinguished attendees were State Representative Leonard Spencer and several legislative staff members who joined the gathering to learn more about Ramadan and to share in the spirit of hospitality that defines the occasion.

Representatives of the Atlantic Institute Central Florida expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the evening possible.

Events such as this Capitol Iftar serve as an important platform for building bridges between communities, fostering dialogue, and strengthening the values of respect and cooperation that underpin civic life.

The Atlantic Institute continues to organize cultural and educational events throughout the year aimed at promoting understanding, service, and engagement across Central Florida’s diverse communities.
