On March 8, International Women's Day, the Atlantic Institute Central Florida hosted a special International Women’s Day Iftar Dinner at the Istanbul Cultural Center in Casselberry, bringing together community members from different faith traditions for an evening of reflection, dialogue, and shared hospitality.
The program featured thoughtful reflections from three distinguished speakers:
• Nihal Erciyas, Atlantic Institute
• Meghan Collins, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church
• Marni Mandell, Shalom Orlando
Each speaker shared insights on the role and significance of women within their respective faith traditions, highlighting the universal values of compassion, leadership, and service embodied by women across communities.
Following the talks, guests participated in a Q&A and reflection session, where attendees shared stories about women who have inspired their lives. The evening continued with the adhan (call to prayer) marking the time to break the fast, followed by a shared iftar dinner.
Events like these reflect the Atlantic Institute’s mission to foster friendship, dialogue, and mutual understanding across cultures and faiths.
We are grateful to our speakers and all the guests who joined us for this meaningful evening.
